One of the many ways to assess personality type is by using the DISC behavioral model. Based on one's preference, you can be categorized as Dominant, Influential, Steady or Conscientious. Do you know which type best fits you? Check out Google and you'll find plenty of free DISC personality testing tool. :)

When I tried the test, well.. I'm not fully surprised with the result - the prevalent "S" type for me.

So how does it feel like being on the "S" side?

For most of the time, it means enjoying the routine and sticking with it, being patient, stable and predictable, being reluctant to change. Staying inside the comfort zone simply equates to comfort!
For sure, anyone can find advantages having the "S" type trait! There are a lot of growth areas as well. And for this, I mean becoming more flexible to experience life's best.

Break camp. Pack up and leave the site.

Climbing Mt. Batulao is totally a fresh experience for me. That day marked the start of my 2014 holiday break. Yeah! Just an awesome way to start my long vacation.
So why chase and choose Mt. Batulao? Here are my takeaways:
  • Very accessible. It offers a sweet escape from the city. The jump off point, Evercrest Golf Course, is just a few minutes away from Tagaytay and it's along the highway. From there, you could start the walk while enjoying the beautiful scenery, including the view of the mountain ranges.
  • The trail is very much beginner-friendly. The ascent and descent are manageable and you will never get lost as long as you follow the trail. There are small houses ("kubo") along the way where you could take quick rests while moving from one peak to another. The great challenge during our climb was the strong wind! Nevertheless, the sea of green grasses and the beautiful mountain ranges caught much of our attention, while enjoying each other's company and keeping in mind everyone's safety as we reach our goal.
  • Camp 10 was the highlight, the summit! Reaching the summit also means seeing the flatlands and shorelines of Batangas. Just WOW! The point when all I could do is stand in awe of our Creator's goodness and wonder. Make the most of the moment, capture beauty and take home stories.
Break camp. Jump off. Follow the trail. Reach the summit. Savor the best moments.

This new experience greatly reminded me as well of God's faithfulness to Joshua and to the people of Israel as they journeyed towards the promise land. Despite of having fear and uncertainties regarding their present situation, they kept moving from one camp to another as the Lord told them. They kept conquering and experiencing more of God's sweet promises! They anchored their trust to an unchanging God, who never fails to keep a covenant. Oh.. Great stories in the book of Joshua. :)

Some changes in our lives are good. Others are even for the better, for the best.
It's OK to let go some of the "S" traits. Just connect to the right Source. Seek proper guidance.
Step out from your usual spot. Get out from that routine. Learn and enjoy!

Behind Chased&Chosen

Why chased and chosen?

2014 has really been a great year, filled with travels and adventures! And the best way to keep the experience alive is to capture moments. What then? Everyone will surely pick the best shot, post them on Facebook or Instagram, count likes, look forward to comments and then the cycle goes on...

Chase experiences. Choose the best moments.

Well, heads up! Haha, Chased&Chosen blog will surely be filled as well with stories of great adventures. But it will be a different thing this time.
I'm looking forward to posts, digging into the wonders behind my wandering and turn them into words.
I'm looking forward to posts that presents less of me, and more of the God's goodness behind every experiences.
After all, He is the source of my everything.

"You didn’t choose me. I chose you."

These are the sweet words of Jesus in John 15:16, which greatly reminds me - like those great photographs (captured, picked, enhanced and produced), I was as well chased and chosen by my Maker to show His greatness and goodness.

Be chased! Be chosen.
